hierarchy
Baron/Baroness - The baron of the heard is the chief. Customarily a stag, he watches over the herd and loosely commands it and the territory it holds. He reserves first pick over his harems, and is often followed by Captains. There may also be hinds in charge, known as baronesses, however hinds naturally defer to stags usually.
Captains - Captains follow the Baron of a herd. They enforce the laws he decrees, patrol the borders of the territory, and hold special privileges among the council.
Commoners - Stags and hinds alike, these are the common deer that follow after the Captains and the Barons. Commonors are also subject to go through their own cycle of maintaining peace in their sect of the herd, especially so during the rut season.
Outcasts - These deer are looked down upon, for they have been exiled from their herd and are no longer welcome on their land. Often they become loners or look to join another herd.
claiming land
Any deer can clame land and become the baron or baroness. Simply post a thread exploring a new area within an existing territory, and PM a staff member with your idea for a new land.
